Từ ngày 27-30/4/2025, Bộ trưởng Ngoại giao và Hợp tác Đông Phi Tanzania Mahmoud Thabit Kombo thăm chính thức Việt Nam và dự Lễ kỷ niệm 50 năm Ngày Giải phóng miền Nam, thống nhất đất nước theo lời mời của Phó Thủ tướng, Bộ trưởng Ngoại giao Bùi Thanh Sơn.
Nhân dịp này, Đại sứ Việt Nam tại Tanzania Vũ Thanh Huyền đã chia sẻ về ý nghĩa và kỳ vọng về chuyến thăm của người đứng đầu ngành Ngoại giao Tanzania tới Việt Nam.

Đại sứ Vũ Thanh Huyền cho biết, chuyến thăm Việt Nam của Bộ trưởng Mahmoud Thabit Kombo diễn ra vào thời điểm rất đặc biệt, khi Việt Nam vừa kỷ niệm 50 năm Ngày Giải phóng miền Nam, thống nhất đất nước, đồng thời hai nước kỷ niệm 60 năm thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao (14/2/1965-14/2/2025).
Đây là dấu mốc giàu ý nghĩa, không chỉ thể hiện tình cảm thủy chung, gắn bó giữa hai dân tộc đã cùng nhau chia sẻ những năm tháng đấu tranh vì độc lập, tự do, mà còn mở ra cơ hội mới để thúc đẩy mạnh mẽ hơn quan hệ song phương trong giai đoạn phát triển mới.
Đại sứ kỳ vọng chuyến thăm lần này sẽ làm sâu sắc hơn nữa quan hệ chính trị tin cậy giữa hai nước, đồng thời tạo động lực thúc đẩy hợp tác thực chất trên nhiều lĩnh vực như kinh tế, thương mại, đầu tư, nông nghiệp, giáo dục, viễn thông, phù hợp với xu thế phát triển của thế giới hiện nay.
Đặc biệt, chuyến thăm sẽ tạo điều kiện để hai bên trao đổi định hướng chiến lược, nhằm khai thác tốt tiềm năng to lớn của cả Việt Nam và Tanzania trong bối cảnh hội nhập toàn cầu sâu rộng hiện nay.

Nhìn lại 60 năm qua, quan hệ Việt Nam-Tanzania luôn được bồi đắp bởi tình đoàn kết chân thành, thủy chung.
Trong thời kỳ đấu tranh giải phóng dân tộc, Tanzania là một trong những nước bạn bè ủng hộ mạnh mẽ sự nghiệp chính nghĩa của nhân dân Việt Nam. Trong thời kỳ xây dựng và phát triển đất nước, hai bên tiếp tục duy trì trao đổi đoàn cấp cao, phối hợp, ủng hộ lẫn nhau tại các diễn đàn quốc tế.
Hợp tác kinh tế - thương mại - đầu tư cũng ghi dấu với những thành tựu nổi bật. Trong đó, dự án đầu tư viễn thông Halotel của Tập đoàn Viettel tại Tanzania được coi là hình mẫu thành công trong hợp tác kinh tế giữa hai nước, góp phần mở rộng hạ tầng số, tạo hàng nghìn việc làm cho người dân sở tại.
Ngoài ra, các dự án hợp tác về nông nghiệp, giáo dục và y tế cũng là những điểm sáng, thể hiện tinh thần hợp tác thiết thực, hiệu quả.
Chuyến công tác Tanzania và hội đàm giữa Thứ trưởng Lê Thị Thu Hằng vào tháng 02/2025 với Bộ trưởng Mahmoud Thabit Kombo thành công tốt đẹp, đã giúp khẳng định và thắt chặt hơn nữa mối quan hệ song phương, góp phần đặc biệt ý nghĩa vào các mốc son quan trọng của hai nước trong năm 2025.

Trong bối cảnh thế giới đang chuyển dịch mạnh mẽ theo hướng chuyển đổi xanh, chuyển đổi số, Đại sứ cho biết, Việt Nam và Tanzania cần tăng cường kết nối cộng đồng doanh nghiệp, tổ chức các diễn đàn xúc tiến đầu tư, thương mại nhằm quảng bá tiềm năng và thế mạnh của mỗi bên.
Hai nước cũng nên khuyến khích hợp tác trong các lĩnh vực như kinh tế xanh, năng lượng tái tạo, nông nghiệp bền vững, công nghệ thông tin, thương mại điện tử, qua đó vừa phù hợp với xu hướng phát triển toàn cầu, vừa đáp ứng nhu cầu thiết thực của cả hai bên.
Bên cạnh đó, việc hoàn thiện khuôn khổ pháp lý, ký kết các hiệp định song phương mới để tạo điều kiện thuận lợi cho giao thương và đầu tư cũng hết sức cần thiết. Một lĩnh vực rất quan trọng khác là đào tạo nguồn nhân lực chất lượng cao, giúp Tanzania có thêm lực lượng lao động đáp ứng yêu cầu phát triển trong kỷ nguyên số và hội nhập quốc tế.
Đại sứ cũng cho biết, gần một năm công tác tại Tanzania, Đại sứ đã có những trải nghiệm rất đặc biệt và trân quý với đất nước xinh đẹp và con người mến khách nơi đây.
Tanzania không chỉ nổi tiếng với những danh thắng thiên nhiên kỳ vĩ như đỉnh núi Kilimanjaro, hồ Victoria hay công viên Serengeti mà còn khiến Đại sứ ấn tượng sâu sắc bởi lòng hiếu khách, sự thân thiện và tình cảm đặc biệt mà người dân dành cho Việt Nam...

From April 27-30,2025, Tanzania's Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, paid an official visit to Vietnam and attended the 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son. On this occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Vu Thanh Huyen shared with the World and Vietnam Newspaper the significance and expectations of the visit of the head of Tanzania's Foreign Ministry to Vietnam.
Ambassador, could you assess the significance of this visit during these historic final days of April, especially as the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations? Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo's visit to Vietnam takes place at a very special time, as we have just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, and at the same time, the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (February 14, 1965 - February 14, 2025). This is a highly significant milestone, not only demonstrating the unwavering loyalty and close bond between the two nations that shared years of struggle for independence and freedom, but also opening up new opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations in this new phase of development. I expect this visit will further deepen the trusted political relationship between the two countries, and at the same time create momentum to promote substantive cooperation in many fields such as economics, trade, investment, agriculture, education, and telecommunications, in line with current global development trends. In particular, the visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to exchange strategic directions, aiming to better exploit the enormous potential of both Vietnam and Tanzania in the context of deep global integration today.
In late February, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang visited Dar es Salaam. During her meeting with Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo , Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam highly values the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, considering Tanzania one of its top priority partners in Africa. Ambassador, could you please highlight some of the key aspects of the bilateral relationship over the past six decades? Looking back over the past 60 years, the Vietnam-Tanzania relationship has always been nurtured by genuine and unwavering solidarity. During the period of national liberation struggle, Tanzania was one of the friendly countries that strongly supported the just cause of the Vietnamese people. During the period of national construction and development, both sides continue to maintain high-level exchanges, coordinate, and support each other in international forums. Economic, trade, and investment cooperation has also been marked by outstanding achievements. In particular, the Halotel telecommunications investment project by Viettel Group in Tanzania is considered a successful model of economic cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the expansion of digital infrastructure and creating thousands of jobs for local people. In addition, collaborative projects in agriculture, education, and healthcare are also highlights, demonstrating a practical and effective spirit of cooperation. The working visit to Tanzania and the talks between Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo were a great success, helping to affirm and further strengthen bilateral relations, making a particularly significant contribution to the important milestones of both countries in 2025.
According to the Ambassador, what should Vietnam and Tanzania do to maximize their potential and promote bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation in the current trend of green transformation and digital transformation? In the context of the world's strong shift towards green transformation and digital transformation, I believe that Vietnam and Tanzania need to strengthen connections between their business communities and organize investment and trade promotion forums to showcase the potential and strengths of each side. The two countries should also encourage cooperation in areas such as the green economy, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, information technology, and e-commerce, thereby aligning with global development trends and meeting the practical needs of both sides. Furthermore, perfecting the legal framework and signing new bilateral agreements to facilitate trade and investment is also essential. Another crucial area is training high-quality human resources, helping Tanzania acquire a workforce capable of meeting the demands of development in the digital age and international integration. Having served in Tanzania for almost a year, could the Ambassador share some personal impressions and memories of this East African nation and its people? Having worked in Tanzania for almost a year, I have had very special and precious experiences with this beautiful country and its hospitable people. Tanzania is not only famous for its magnificent natural landmarks such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Lake Victoria, and Serengeti National Park, but it also deeply impressed me with the hospitality, friendliness, and special affection that its people have for Vietnam...
